Last offseason, the Redskins acquired a long-term boost to the cornerback position in the form of Josh Norman. However, they saw little improvement in the overall performance of the secondary. While the position of safety was far more suspect, the depth at cornerback proved to be lacking. The team also saw moderate regression from Bashaud Breeland, and although not severe enough to cause alarm, the team has prepared for his possible departure as well, coming into a contract year.
The Redskins drafted Fabian Moreau in the third round of the NFL Draft, acquiring a cornerback in that round for the second year in a row.
