The Washington Redskins have begun to trim their roster from 75 players to 53 today as they released seven from their roster. Center and seventh round pick Austin Reiter was released, which means Josh LeRibeus will be the backup to Kory Lichtensteiger at center.
The Redskins also released running back Mack Brown and wide receiver Reggie Bell. I thought Bell played well this preseason and he could be a candidate for the practice squad. I like Browns’ size and power running style. He has a good game against the Jaguars but it wasn’t enough to earn a spot.
