The Washington Football Team’s 2021 season starts tonight with a preseason game in New England against the Patriots. This will be the WFT’s first preseason game since the name change. Last year’s preseason was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ron Rivera wants to see Ryan Fitzpatrick take command of the offense tonight, and said no one has been ruled out for playing the Patriots. He emphasized the sense of urgency everyone should have this week with their first real game action since the playoff loss to the Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers in January.
