Washington Commanders Free Agency: Patriots CB Jonathan Jones agrees to 1-year deal

The Washington Commanders have agreed to terms on a 1-year deal with New England Patriots CB JOnathan Jones. The news came before the official start of the 2025/26 NFL season, and adds another player to Washington’s defensive secondary. Jones is a 9-year veteran cornerback with 44 starts in the past three seasons.

With Noah Igbinoghene, Michael Davis and Benjamin St-Juste all becoming free agents with the start of the new league year, Washington needs to add depth, experience and skill at the position group.

Jones entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He has spent his entire career with New England, and has a pair of super bowl rings.
