The Supplemental Draft will be held on Wednesday, July 11, and this year there are five eligible players.
Success stories are few and far between; the most notable player in recent history selected in the Supplemental Draft was Josh Gordon in 2012, who the Browns relinquished a second-round pick for.
Eric Galko at Optimal Scouting predicts the Redskins will select Adonis Alexander, a 6’3”, 193-pound cornerback from Virginia Tech, who’s entering the Draft because of academic ineligibility this school year. Teams that use a pick in the Supplemental Draft lose an equivalent pick the following year; however, because the Redskins have 11 picks in 2019, it could make sense for a talented prospect.
