ASHBURN — Redskins wide receivers Trey Quinn and Cam Sims underwent ankle surgery Wednesday and will miss at least the next eight weeks, coach Jay Gruden said Wednesday.
The Redskins placed both players on injured reserve, meaning there’s a possibility the two won’t return before the end of the season. Teams are only allowed to have two players return from injured reserve per year, which means they have to be careful for who they bring back.
Gruden said the timetable for recovery for Quinn and Sims could be six-to-eight weeks. But players on IR must miss a minimum of eight weeks.
