ASHBURN, Va. — Washington Redskins left tackle Trent Williams had thumb surgery Thursday and will miss Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, coach Jay Gruden said Friday.
Williams, who dislocated his right thumb in last week’s win against the New York Giants, will be considered “week to week” moving forward, Gruden said but did not expand beyond that.
Williams traveled to Pittsburgh to see a thumb specialist, who determined surgery was necessary.
“We have no idea right now,” Gruden said of Williams‘ timetable.
