RICHMOND – Tests conducted on the right knee of running back Silas Redd Jr. confirmed that the second-year pro did indeed tear the anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament in his right knee, a person with knowledge of the situation said Friday.
Redd sustained the injury while getting tackled during a run early in the third quarter of Washington‘s preseason opener against the Browns. Redd’s leg bent awkwardly under him as Cleveland defensive end Jamie Meder brought him to the ground. Redd also fumbled while getting tackled.
