McLEAN, Va.—The Washington Redskins continue searching for a site to house a new stadium. At their Welcome Home Luncheon, one person made it clear where he thinks that quest should end: Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe. And he did so with a sense of humor.
The Redskins lease on the land for their current home expires in 2027, but the Redskins have been looking for a new site for a few years. They’re looking at land in Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia and would like to make a decision within the next year or two.
They played in the district until 1997 before moving to their current home in Maryland.
