Washington Redskins nose tackle Terrance Knighton did not travel with the team to New England and will not play in Sunday’s game against the Patriots because of a migraine headache.
Knighton suffers from “cluster headaches,” which is characterized by recurring headaches on one side of the head, particularly in the area behind the eye. He said he has experienced them since he was a teenager, though this is the first time it has forced him to miss a game.
The Redskins returned from the bye week last Monday and Knighton said they began during the break. He added that the pain is incredibly severe, something he said he “would not wish on his worst enemy.
