RICHMOND — The Redskins’ bulked up defensive line was without its imposing anchor in practice on Wednesday, with nose tackle Terrance Knighton missing from the lineup.
Team officials said afterward that the 6-foot-3 Knighton, who appears heavier than his roster weight of 354 pounds, was listed as “ill” on the team’s injury report. The sixth day of practice on the seventh day of training camp was another scorcher, with on-field temperatures topping 100 degrees when players took the field for the two-hour afternoon practice.
That schedule changes Thursday, when the Redskins host the Houston Texans for a three-day joint practice.
