Nose tackle Terrance Knighton announced that he has chosen the New England Patriots over the Washington Redskins. Knighton made his decision a day after meeting with Redskins officials about the possibility of returning for a second season, and three days after meeting with the Patriots.
Washington’s decision-makers weren’t willing to give Knighton the multiyear deal that he sought. Instead, the team extended him another one-year deal. In 2015, Knighton signed a one-year, $4.45 million contract with Washington after the Denver Broncos opted not to re-sign him.
Knighton’s deal with the Patriots is also for one year, and will be worth $4.
