Tackle Willie Smith among players cut as officials trim roster to 75

The Washington Redskins on Monday completed their first round of cuts, parting with backup tackle Willie Smith, who started in place of Trent Williams in the second preseason game, and 11 others.

Cornerbacks Tajh Hasson, Trey Wolfe, DreQuan Hoskey, linebackers Alonzo Highsmith and Dyshawn Davis, tight ends Chase Dixon, Ernst Brun Jr. and Devin Mahina and offensive lineman Bryce Quigley all got cut between Sunday evening and Monday morning.

Place kicker Ty Long also was cut Sunday.
