Washington Redskins defensive end Stephen Paea suffered a right toe sprain during the 19-16 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night. He’ll have an MRI exam on the toe after suffering the injury during the third quarter, Redskins Coach Jay Gruden said after the game.
Paea said he suffered it while attempting to sack Cowboys quarterback Matt Cassel. He didn’t return to the game after attempting to apply pressure on the toe, but Paea remained on the sidelines to support his teammates during a bizarre final two minutes of the game. In what was an offensive struggle, both teams scored 17 points in a wild finish.
