Washington Redskins defensive end Stephen Paea is expected to miss one to two weeks with a Grade 2 turf toe injury he suffered in Monday’s 19-16 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, Redskins Coach Jay Gruden said Tuesday.
Paea suffered the right toe injury during the third quarter. He attempted to stand on his tippy-toes to apply pressure on the sidelines and play through the pain, but Paea was advised by the trainers to sit out the remainder of the game. Based on the initial prognosis following an MRI exam, Paea will not play in his homecoming game Sunday against the Chicago Bears, the team with which he played the first four seasons of his career.
