Washington Redskins linebacker Trent Murphy will be suspended four games for violating the NFL's policy on performance enhancing drugs to start next season, unless he wins an appeal, according to multiple sources.
Murphy, a second-round pick from Stanford in 2014, had just finished his best season with the Redskins. He recorded a career-best nine sacks, second most on the team, and three forced fumbles. In his first two seasons, Murphy finished with a combined six sacks and the Redskins were intent on finding others for that position.
The Washington Post earlier reported the news.
