The Washington Redskins continued their trend of adding players with impressive size, physicality and versatility in rounds 2 and 3 of Friday’s NFL Draft.
In Mississippi State’s Preston Smith (second round), Washington got a 6-foot-5, 271-pound player that team officials believe is still growing, and also say he is capable of lining up at multiple positions along the defensive front.
In running back Matt Jones (third round), the team got 6-2, 232-pound power runner that Washington’s talent evaluators see as well-rounded offensively, and also capable of becoming a core special teams player.
