RICHMOND — Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan said on Sunday that he liked what he saw from Robert Griffin III in Thursday’s preseason opener, joining Coach Jay Gruden in accentuating the positive despite the fact that the fourth-year quarterback failed to engineer a touchdown drive in two series’ work.
“I see improvement,” McCloughan said following the team’s morning walk-through at camp. “I see confidence. I see the ball out on time, I see a good football player.”
Griffin completed four of his eight throws for 36 yards, didn’t turn the ball over and wasn’t sacked in the Redskins’ 20-17 victory at Cleveland.
