Entering Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints, the Washington Redskins were eager to see how Samaje Perine would respond to having an expanded role.
While Perine had already notched a start under his belt against the Oakland Raiders in Week 3, he was bumped into the lead back role following Rob Kelley’s placement on Injured Reserve last week.
Perine would respond with a breakout game, recording 23 carries for 117 yards and his first career rushing touchdown.
