Former second-overall pick Ryan Leaf is a guy who has “been there.” After being considered one of the top quarterback prospects of his draft year (going just one pick behind Peyton Manning in 1998) to troubles with addiction and the law, he has worked to better himself and has publicly shared his story of battling his own demons.
Now Leaf is an addiction recovery advocate and serves as an NFL and college football analyst on SiriusXM radio. He was asked on a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) thread what his advice would be for Dwayne Haskins, and here is what he had to say:
Since his release, Haskins has mutually parted ways with his agent David Mulugheta of Athletes First, Washington’s former QB would do well to heed to Leaf’s advice and to avoid making his same mistakes.
