Ryan Kerrigan will sit out third preseason game; Breeland, Crowder likely out, too

Coach Jay Gruden insists Ryan Kerrigan is fully recovered from the offseason arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, and the veteran outside linebacker looked comfortable in Friday’s 20-minute walk-through at Joint Base Andrews.

Nonetheless, Gruden said he’ll hold Kerrigan out of Saturday’s preseason game at Baltimore for precautionary reasons.

“He’s good to go, I believe,” Gruden told reporters after talking with servicemen and women, their spouses and children following the workout on an artificial-turf field on the base. “We just want to make sure he has necessary recovery time. We don’t want anything crazy to happen.”

The Redskins have lost five key players to injury this off-season, include starting tight end Niles Paul, veteran pass rusher Junior Galette and special-teams captain Adam Hayward.
