The marriage between Su’a Cravens and the Washington Redskins has been a rocky one. After a very strong rookie year by the then linebacker, Cravens was expected to move to safety for the 2017 season and be a key starter. Instead, he abruptly left the team before the season as he contemplated retirement. He would eventually be placed on a reserve list and miss the season.
However, at one point, Cravens had wanted to return, but the Redskins instead elected to deactivate him. That caused both sides to lose faith in one another and as a result, Cravens returning to Washington was a long shot.
