The Redskins didn’t have too many options at cornerback against the Eagles, so they turned to safety Kyshoen Jarrett in the nickel slot. The rookie played the entire game at the position in the 23-20 win on Sunday, surprising even the coaching staff with his ability at the new position.
Jarrett was one of six defensive players to play all 56 snaps against Philadelphia. Coach Jay Gruden picked Jarrett in the nickel over Will Blackmon, who was used previously this season when the Redskins dealt with depth issues at cornerback. The sixth-round pick out of Virginia Tech was targeted seven times, allowing three receptions for 23 yards, per Pro Football Focus.
