HBO’s new show “Ballers” takes a look at life for NFL players off the field. How do they deal with life during and after football? Set in Miami it stars Dwayne Johnson as a retired defensive end for the Miami Dolphins who is trying to become a sports agent.
He spends a lot of his time giving advice to current players and is trying to use his connections with them to bring a sports management agency new clients. Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson makes an appearance in a scene playing himself.
In the scene, Jackson runs into Johnson’s Spencer Strasmore outside of a nightclub and Strasmore advises him to not buy cars but to lease them, as it’s unwise to buy property that instantly depreciates.
