When the Redskins claimed Reuben Foster off waivers late in the NFL season, it was met with a lot of backlash. After all, it was the second time that Foster had been accused of domestic violence, and the team was the only one in the league to put in a claim for him.
While many across the NFL were upset with the team’s decision, the Redskins still chose to take a PR hit in hopes that the linebacker would be cleared to play in 2019. Though they bungled the handling of the situation, largely due to Bruce Allen and Dan Snyder’s refusal to speak about the issue, they did say that Foster would only play with the team if cleared.
