When the San Francisco 49ers waived Reuben Foster, it was expected that nobody would touch him. Coming off the second domestic violence accusation of his young career, Foster was waived after repeatedly causing trouble for the 49ers. And the latest accusations confirmed that he hadn’t learned from his past mistakes, so nobody would give the embattled player another chance.
Or so people thought.
Instead, the Redskins surprised many by taking a chance on Foster. Yes, the team did have a need for a three-down linebacker, so in terms of roster fit, that makes sense. But again, Foster was accused of domestic violence for a second time.
