ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday reported that the Redskins are adding 11-year veteran tight end Alex Smith to the roster after Derek Carrier's season-ending injury.
The Washington Redskins are adding a veteran to their tight end group, as ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday the team is signing Alex Smith.
In a previously reported corresponding move, the team is placing tight end Derek Carrier, who tore his ACL and MCL on Sunday vs. the Bears, on the season-ending IR list.
Smith, 33, is an 11-year veteran who has had previous stints in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns and New Orleans Saints.
