With Matt Cavanaugh and Kevin O’Connell both receiving promotions of sorts for the Redskins, the team now is looking for a new QB coach. O’Connell will be vacating that role after spending the past two seasons in it, and the team is searching for a successor. Recently, they interviewed former Bengals offensive coordinator Ken Zampese for the job. And now, they have interviewed another recent Bengals coordinator in Bill Lazor.
According to The MMQB’s Albert Breer, the Redskins recently interviewed Lazor for the opening. Lazor has been a coach at the NFL level since 2003 and previously had a stint with the Redskins from 2004-2007.
