Over the course of the offseason, Joshua Holsey was the subject of some buzz for Redskins fans. He reportedly had shown well during his rookie season and was lauded for his intelligence. He saw minimal action in 12 games last year, but with the departure of both Bashaud Breeland and Kendall Fuller, there was an opening for a top backup job with the Redskins. And many thought that Holsey would compete for it.
Going into the preseason, some thought that Holsey would challenge for the nickel role. Or win the job as the primary backup on the roster.
