Report: Dan Snyder, not Jay Gruden, was pushing the Redskins defensive coordinator search

The Redskins unofficial search for a new defensive coordinator ended with a whimper as everyone they wanted didn't want them. Washington was linked with Todd Bowles, Steve Wilks, and Gregg Williams, but each of them took DC jobs elsewhere. This means that Greg Manusky keeps his job by default.

Jason La Canfora reports that it was Dan Snyder who was leading the search for a new Redskins DC. He really wanted former Redskins safety, and New York Jets Head Coach Todd Bowles. When that didn't happen he turned to former Redskins DC Gregg Williams, but he took the Jets DC job before he could even interview with Washington.
