Redskins' defensive line faces questions after quiet offseason

The Washington Redskins entered the offseason wanting to upgrade their defensive line talent, getting younger and better. In some cases they got younger; it’s uncertain exactly how much better the group is, however.

The latter part won’t be determined until the season, of course. Until then, there will be questions.

The Redskins' big moves along the line were more about who they parted ways with – Terrance Knighton (free agency) and Jason Hatcher (released, then retired) – than who they signed.

In fact, the biggest investment was drafting Matt Ioannidis in the fifth round two weeks ago.
