LANDOVER, Md. -- Here are five observations on the Washington Redskins' defense after their 19-16 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night:
Mason Foster really played a strong game. He did a nice job on one route to tight end Jason Witten, running a wheel route after aligning in a three-point stance. Foster was right with him; the pass was incomplete. He and Will Compton seemed to work together well. There was a play early in the game in which they communicated just before the snap, prompting Foster to re-align -- and then run up to make a tackle for no gain.
