The Washington Redskins have altered their approach too many times in the offseason, veering from big spending on unrestricted free agents to pursuing restricted ones. They too often have tried to stock their roster with free agents, giving them big-name vets but no true foundation.
But now, for the second year in a row, Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan will stick with the same approach: sign free agents, but don’t go crazy.
“We’re not going to be big players,” he told reporters at the Senior Bowl. “I don’t believe in that."
The Redskins will have enough cap space to make moves, but not enough to be a major factor.
