The Washington Redskins are expected to hire Carolina Panthers coordinator Scott Turner for the same role, according to multiple reports.
Turner, 37, would replace Kevin O’Connell, who remains under contract and has interviewed for the position. Ron Rivera interviewed Turner last week, but O’Connell reportedly has been given permission by the Redskins to talk with other teams.
In Carolina, Turner was elevated from quarterbacks coach to offensive coordinator last month after Rivera was fired. A first-time play-calller, Turner took over from his father, Norv Turner.
Norv Turner, of course, coached the Redskins from 1994 to 2000.
