Redskins: What to do at LT if Trent Williams goes down?

Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden stated that they felt that backup left tackle Willie Smith could do the job in place of the injured Trent Williams Thursday night against the Detroit Lions. Williams had a foot injury and Smith started in his place.

However, Willie Smith struggled mightily in pass protection resulting in quarterback Robert Griffin III taking some hellacious hits while in the pocket. Morgan Moses was the backup at left tackle last season but he’s the new starting right tackle.

First round draft pick Brandon Scherff is no longer a tackle as he’s starting right guard.
