Over the course of the past three drafts, the Redskins have focused on building up their defensive front. In 2017, they added Jonathan Allen, who has emerged as a well-rounded player and leader on the defensive line. In 2018, they added Daron Payne, who plugged a decade-long hole that the team had at nose tackle.
In 2019, they added Montez Sweat. And he could be the next great first-round defensive player that the Redskins have added.
Sweat was one of the top edge rushers in the 2019 NFL Draft. He had a great career at Mississippi State and was one of the hottest names for months during the draft process.
