Redskins tight end Sprinkle fined more than two game checks for hits

The NFL fined Washington Redskins tight end Jeremy Sprinkle $84,231 for two instances of unnecessary roughness in the team’s Week 8 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, reports said.

The first of the two hits came in the second quarter after Sprinkle made a reception. He lowered his head and made helmet-to-helmet contact with Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes. The play wasn’t flagged, but Rhodes wound up being evaluated for a concussion.

Remember for a minute when the NFL cared about player safety & flagged lowering your helmet to create contact pic.
