Redskins tender qualifying offer to safety Duke Ihenacho

The Washington Redskins have tendered a qualifying one-year offer to safety Duke Ihenacho, a person with knowledge of the situation said on Monday. He was slated to become a restricted free agent this offseason after his second season with the Redskins.

Ihenacho has played in just four games over two seasons with Washington. He fractured and dislocated his left wrist during the season opener last year and was placed on injured reserve after winning the strong safety job out of training camp. Ihenacho, who will turn 27 in June, played just three games in 2014 because of a fractured heel bone.
