Redskins snap counts vs. Giants: Washington commits to the run, ties a season high in carries

The Redskins defeated the New York Giants, 20-14, on Sunday at FedEx Field. Here’s how the 71 offensive and 69 defensive snaps were divided up:

Quarterback
Kirk Cousins – 71 snaps (played 100 percent on offense)
Colt McCoy – DNP

He’s had games with better stats, but I think this was Cousins’s best game this season. He was 20 of 29 for 302 yards with two total touchdowns and a 114.4 quarterback rating. It was an important moment for this team, and Cousins did enough offensively to put points on the board and milk the clock late in the game to avoid a fourth-quarter collapse.
