In the wake of releasing Orlando Scandrick prior to their second preseason game, the Redskins had an open spot on their 90-man roster. The team didn’t elect to add a player prior to their Thursday night game against the Jets, which was sensible as the player wouldn’t have been likely to play anyway, but they did make a move on Saturday afternoon to add depth to their roster.
While some may have been expecting, or hoping, that the team added a running back to their roster in the wake of injuries to Derrius Guice, Byron Marshall, and Samaje Perine, the team elected to add a player at another position.
