Redskins Sign Veteran Running Back Pierre Thomas

The Washington Redskins on Friday announced the signing of nine-year veteran running back Pierre Thomas, who has more than 6,300 offensive yards in his career.

With uncertainty about Chris Thompson’s status moving forward as he deals with a torn labrum in his shoulder, the Redskins on Friday added a backup policy in Pierre Thomas, a nine-year veteran who spent his first eight seasons with the New Orleans Saints.

In a corresponding move, the Redskins placed defensive end Stephen Paea (toe) on the season-ending Injured Reserve list.
