Now that the Alliance of American Football is out of business, its players are free to sign elsewhere. Two of them have landed with the Washington Redskins.
The Redskins announced Monday they signed linebacker Andrew Ankrah and guard Salesi Uhatafe — both of whom last played in the AAF.
Ankrah had 14 tackles and three sacks for the Steve Spurrier-coached Orlando Apollos. The 6-foot-3, 216-pound linebacker went undrafted in the NFL last season after recording 26 1/2 sacks at James Madison University.
Uhatafe was also undrafted, but latched on to the Salt Lake Stallions in the AAF.
