Redskins sign TE Anthony McCoy, waive CB Deshazor Everett

The Washington Redskins were expected to tinker on the 53-man roster they announced Saturday afternoon, and just two days later they have done just that.

The team on Monday signed free agent tight end Anthony McCoy, and to create room for him on the roster, waived rookie cornerback Deshazor Everett.

A sixth-round pick out of USC in 2010, McCoy missed the two previous seasons because of Achilles’ tendon tears. Coming off of his best season in 2012, when he recorded 18 catches for 291 yards and three touchdowns, McCoy tore his right Achilles’ tendon in May of 2013 and had surgery to repair it.
