Redskins sign TE Anthony McCoy release CB Everett

The Washington Redskins announce they have signed former Seattle Seahawks tight end Anthony McCoy. I order to sign McCoy the Redskins had to release rookie cornerback Deshazor Everett in order to make room on the roster for McCoy.

The Redskins had only kept two tight ends on the roster in Jordan Reed and Derek Carrier in order to get down to 53 players. So a third tight end is something they could use and McCoy has a connection to Redskins GM Scot McCloughan from his time in the Seahawks front office.
