ASHBURN, Va. – Pierre Thomas didn’t expect another phone call this season, not with only four games remaining. But the Washington Redskins had a need, Thomas was available and now he has another chance.
The Redskins signed the veteran running back Friday because of concerns about Chris Thompson’s shoulder. Thompson suffered a torn labrum in his shoulder vs. Dallas. He’s already listed as out for Sunday’s game at Chicago.
There’s a chance that Thomas could be active Sunday, though he would only be able to run a handful of plays.
“The main thing is to get him ready for the last three games,” Gruden said.
