RICHMOND — The Redskins continued shuffling their offensive line Wednesday, announcing the signings of veteran tackle Donald Penn and guard Hugh Thornton.
To make room for the two offensive linemen, Washington waived guard Tyler Catalina and center Casey Dunn.
Penn, 36, provides the Redskins with an insurance option at left tackle in case Trent Williams’ holdout lasts into the regular season. A three-time Pro Bowler, Penn spent the last five seasons with the Oakland Raiders, who released him in March. Penn played just four games last year, being placed on injured reserve with a leg injury.
