ASHBURN, Va. -- The Washington Redskins signed long-snapper Rick Lovato, just in case Nick Sundberg remains unable to snap in Sunday night's game versus the Green Bay Packers.
The Redskins waived defensive lineman Jordan Hill, but he can always be re-signed Monday if they no longer need to carry two long-snappers. Sundberg injured his back lifting weights Thursday, but a source said there's still a chance he might be able to snap on Sunday. However, they signed Lovato just in case his back does not improve. Quarterback Colt McCoy is the emergency long-snapper, but the Redskins do not want to enter the game with a good chance of having to use him.
