The Washington Redskins found quality help early in the offseason last year by signing a former first-round pick coming off an injury. They hope they’ve added another such player Friday.
Washington signed former Cleveland nose tackle Phil Taylor, a Clinton, Maryland, native, as well as linebackers Khairi Forti and Pete Robertson to reserve/futures contracts. Last year, they signed defensive lineman Ziggy Hood to a futures contract and he ended up starting 14 games.
At 6-foot-3, 335 pounds, Taylor would provide needed size up front. The Redskins will continue to look hard for defensive linemen this offseason and must make decisions on free agents Hood and Chris Baker.
