The Redskins had one spot remaining on the practice squad following today’s early action. While Nico Marley remains available, and would have made for a good addition, the Redskins decided to use their final spot on a quarterback. Former Penn signal caller Alek Torgersen is the new guy in town.
Torgersen, a California native with roots in Norway, had a solid senior season with the Quakers, logging 17 touchdowns to 4 interceptions while maintaining a 66% completion percentage. Torgersen shined in the East-West Shrine Game, but nonetheless went undrafted. The Atlanta Falcons subsequently picked him up, and he’s been on the team up until now.
