The Washington Redskins have opted to go with a younger roster over a cast of veterans at the preference of Redskins General Manager Scot McCloughan, who wants to see those inexperienced players grow through with valuable regular season snaps.
Take the offensive line for example, where the Redskins have been using an interior of left guard Spencer Long, center Josh LeRibeus and rookie right guard Brandon Scherff – all who had combined for just one career start entering the season. Rookie wide receiver Jamison Crowder has replaced Andre Roberts as the team’s starting slot receiver. Although Alfred Morris continues to start, rookie running back Matt Jones has had a larger role as of late in the backfield.
